The winner of the 2018 poetry submission competition is Sheila Sadr with Birthday Girl, forthcoming fall 2020.
We’re proud to share that the Not a Cult poetry submission competition for full-length poetry book projects is now the Stories Award for Poetry, sponsored by independent booksellers Stories Books & Cafe in Los Angeles.
Submissions for the award will open August 1, 2019 and close August 31, 2019. Ten finalists are selected by an advisory panel to submit their full-length manuscript.
One recipient is chosen for the award, which provides a cash prize of $1,000 and a publishing deal for the submitted work.
A maximum of 5 poems for the first-round submission is required. Authors should be prepared to submit their full-length manuscript should they advance to the final round.
Previously published works are not permitted for submission.
Authors may be of any nationality.
Authors must be over 18 years old.
Multiple submissions per person are permitted as separate submissions.
The submission must be written in English.
